Let me start this off by stating some hard facts. Firstly, without any bias as a fellow Chapman student, I feel it’s absolutely safe to say that Katee and Josh are the best dancers on this show. They’ve made this show their bitch and won’t hesitate to set the stage on fire and burn that mother down…with DANCE (Dance…Dance…). Secondly, Mia Michaels is a GOD. Katee and Josh’s first routine was choreographed by Mia, who I am convinced gets higher than Paula Abdul to think up her insane routines. Needless to say, Mia’s routine blew the live audience and the judges away, as well as left my jaw dropped with drool a-spillin.
Josh’s quote tonight, “it’s so much more than dancing,” did well to amplify everything Katee and him have been bringing to the competition so far: hard core heart and soul. In addition to their phenomenal movin’ and groovin’, Katee really amped up the acting and presence tonight, especially in Michaels’ routine. Katee has truly been shining in this competition and Napoleon was right to bring up how much talent would’ve been missed if she’d been left back in Vegas. On a sidenote, I’d like to mention how awesome the other Mia Michaels routine was tonight, featuring Kherrington and fellow Chapman alum Twitch Boss.
Here’s the video for Katee and Josh’s contemporary routine by Mia Michaels:
In tonight’s leg of the competition, the production was sped up so each couple could perform two separate dances. This was a bonus in my eyes, because not only did I get to see Katee and Josh twice, but I had less annoying babbling to sit through from host Cat Deeley. Seriously, I was using TiVo and I still heard the woman’s voice too much. I think at this point it goes without saying…Katee and Josh blew the roof off with their west coast swing, choreographed by Benji Schwimmer. They were out of their element and still managed to kill it. And that, ladies and gentlemen, is why they’re going all the way.
Unfortunately for Dres, So You Think You Can Write (Write…Write…) is suffering in the ratings and the producers are threatening to cancel the program unless the action steps up. And after the incident last week with Billy Shakespeare, Dres is stepping it up. After publishing his piece on Historical Pimps, he took a breather to send me in to pinch hit. Check out the latest in the competition with Douchebag of the Week.
Again, a major congrats to Katee (and Josh) this week. They take whatever’s thrown at them, kill it, spit on it, stuff it into a bazooka, and shoot it back. They’re THAT good. As for you readers, leave a comment or tell your friends about the site. Were a family here. Welcome to it.
West Coast Swing:
yes, katee and joshua are good but i personally love gev and courtney, they have so much personality and connection together and i think that overpowers everyone even though katee and joshua are good they dont really have the same connection with america and are sometimes forgotten or the underdogs-unlike twitch/kherrington or gev/courtney. but i dont know this show has been kindof dissapointing lately and im curious what will happen in the end.
Katee and Josh are better dancers than Gev and Courtney, and they are the better couple. They haven’t danced a single weak routine. Every time they are top 2 best danced couples. I would say they are the weakest remaining couple besides will and jessica, and really thats just jessica.
courtney and gev are definitely the weakest remaining couple. gev is awesome at his style, but courtney? i think i even like jessica better! katee and joshua are absolutely the best dancers on the show, but chelsie and mark have amazed me and kherington and twitch are so loveable – katee and josh dont have any personality or wow factor when they arent dancing…but the dancing is DAMN good!
